After installing Ubuntu server, you might encounter some problems with linux locale configuration. Usually you can see the following warning messages:
Please check that your locale settings: LANGUAGE = (unset), LC_ALL = (unset), LANG = "en_US.UTF-8"
The output of the command “locale” may contain the following lines:
user@server$ locale locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory
Here is the solution that worked for me.
sudo apt-get install language-pack-en
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
